The finale of the highly successful T20 pre-season tournament took place at Beacon Hill Park on Sunday April 28th. The grass a little longer than usual causing some slower outfields than what are normally seen at BHP.
Unbeaten teams throughout the month of April saw Friends XI clash with Nanaimo District CC in a high-stakes showdown. Nanaimo District CC won the toss and elected to field first, putting Friends XI into bat.
Friends XI got off to a fast start with only one wicket down in the first 10 overs. The middle order contributed significantly, with notable contributions from S. Alagaratanam (34 runs) and B. George (27 runs), helping Friends XI reach a competitive total of 162/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
NDCC struggled with the bowling from R. Laller and M.A.K. as they picked up 4 wickets. Then tournament director M. Singh taking 3 wickets alongside A. Kumar (2 wickets) to complete a 74 run win and take home the 2024 trophy.
