Rules

  1. Each side with eleven players. No player can play more than one team throughout the competition
  2. Knock-out competition
  3. Two games per day on Saturday and Sunday. Three games on Monday
  4. Umpires for the first game will be provided by each team playing in the second game of the day and vice-versa. The two loosing teams in Semi-Finals will provide one umpire each for the Final game
  5. For game times see the schedule.
  6. Game:
  •         twenty overs per innings
  •          to be finished in a maximum of 80 minutes
  •          a 10 runs per over penalty on the fielding team for not completing the 20 overs in 80 minutes (a minimum of four minutes is required to start the last over of an innings).
  •          a maximum of 10 minutes break between innings
  •          no drink breaks
  •          the next batsman has 90 seconds after the fall of a wicket to get to the crease (to take a guard)
  •          a striker should always be ready to take the strike when the bowler is ready to start his run-up (Law 42.10 MCC 2000 Code 2nd Edition -2003 will be applicable)
  •          bowlers are restricted to a maximum of a fifth of the total overs (e. g. four overs in a 20 overs innings)
  •          NO Ball: a no ball is worth two runs on a foot fault, and the batsman gets a free hit on the following ball (can still be run out)
  •          Wide Ball: the inside marker for on-side and the outside marker for off-side (six a side rule)
  •          rain delays reduce the overs by one over per four minutes lost. Both teams shall have an opportunity of batting for the same number of overs. In the case of a second innings having less than the alloted overs, the team with the higher run rate shall be the winner (VDCA  Weekend Rule 11 (C))
  •          a completed match shall require a minimum of five overs bowled per innings.
  •          in case of tie or incomplete game, a Bowl-outs will determine a winner
  • Bowl-outs: According to this Twenty20 cricket rule, five bowlers from either team are allowed to bowl two balls at the wicket with no batsman at the crease. The Twenty20 rule states that the maximum times the wicket is castled by either team decides the outcome of the Twenty20 match
