Minutes of the first meeting of what was to become the VDCA, 1872

Proceedings of a general meeting of the Cricketers of Victoria B.C. held at the Garrick's Head at 3:30pm, Jan 13th, 1872.
M.W.T. Drake Esq. in the Chair

Resolved:
  1. That a club be organized with a subscription of $5 (five dollars) a member for the season.
  2. The following Gentlemen shall form the original Club:

    C.E. Pooley Esq.A. Rome Esq.Dr. Matthews
    T.H. Tye Esq.J. Howard Esq.W. Wilson Esq.
    J. Wilson Esq.C. Good Esq.T. Hankin Esq.
    W.C. Berkeley Esq.Lieut. E.C. Royse R.N.F. Pagden Esq.
    T. Hubbuck Esq.R. Hett Esq.M.W.T. Drake Esq.
    R.E. Jackson Esq.

  3. That all other persons subsequently desiring to join the Club are to be ballotted for - one black-ball in five to exclude.
  4. That the following be the Committee:
    Andrew Rome Esq.M.W.T. Drake Esq.
    W. Powell Esq.Frank Pagden Esq.
    John Howard Esq.
    Treasurer: Charles E. Pooley Esq.
    Hon'y Secretary: J. Egerton Curtis Esq.

  5. That the Treasurer be Authorised to make all payments by the written order of the Secretary only.
After a vote of thanks to the Chairman, & a general shake, the meeting adjourned.
